Tim Kernan

I grew up sailing with my family in the Caribbean and New England, where my love of boats and the sea was born. After graduating with a degree in literature from New York University, I studied yacht design at the Landing School in Arundel, ME. It was from there that I got my start in yacht design- interning for Bob Perry in Seattle,  then working for Bob from 1995-2000.  I moved to Southern California in 2000, working with Morelli and Melvin Design and Engineering from 2000-2003. I opened my office in Long Beach in 2005. In 2019, I accepted the challenging position of Director of Engineering at Willard Marine, where I worked until 2022, while continuing to work on select projects of my own and racing (mostly offshore).
